Grey box when selecting 3D solids

When I select a solid I am constantly getting some sort of selecting shadow/extent or something that's quite obscuring; I have attached a picture.

I tried disabling hardware acceleration with no avail.

Is there's any way to turn this off. I am using the default conceptual visual style in version 2017. When using a 2D wireframe style at an angle it looks like selecting grouped objects but if you switch to an orthographic view that grey box reappear like with all the other style.

FYI, I deleted the two solids I used in the picture. Just use any other solids in the file or create one anywhere. It seems it's particularly prevalent for the polysolid command to behave like this.

would you try the follow please:

- use EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command.

- open the new created CAD file.

see if the problem is still and get back to us please...

Tried that with a blank file with just a single polysolid and it's still like that.

I have not heard back in a while. Would really like to know just what is going on with this grey fill. Thanks.

Hi,

There is no error per se; it's just that when I draw a polysolid like the one I attached here there is that gray underlay at its bottom when selecting the solid, while if I use existing lines with the polysolid tool the resulting solid has no obscuring gray underlay. I don't think this is normal but can't figure out what's causing this--is this perhaps a bug in 2017? This happens seemingly with all of the default visual style except 2D wireframe.

I've tried ExportToAutoCAD and turning off hardware acceleration but those didn't fix anything.
