I agree there is always an "current" workspace, but really it does nothing until you make it current.
Its odd, yes. You can open the workspace settings dialog, see it checked, and see it current in the CUI, but it represents potential settings, not what is really current.
To test that, start with an active workspace, move toolbars, close acad, and reopen acad and see the toolbars stay where they were.
I did not save the workspace, so there is no workspace that holds the last toolbar locations.
The current toolbar locations are from the registry,
I do not put /w (or /ws? I forget) switch in my icons, but if you do, yes that would set them current on open.
I never said I don't have workspaces, I have two and one is always current like you say.
I have never tried not having them, so there is no "blank named" workspaces being created.
They sound great if they work, I just get burned by them over and over.
