AutoCAD itself doesn't do much with the internet. There's a couple of options to consider. Do you have CIP enabled? Are you using an older perpetual stand-alone license or a Desktop/rental-model license (although the latter shouldn't matter too much - license service is very low requirement and is intermittent).
Outside of AutoCAD there's a few things to consider. Are you signing in to A360 by default? Are you using it to actively synch drawings and/or settings?
Then there's the various Application Manager/Desktop manager/etc. utilities which check for downloads. Those can be turned off, you generally want to be checking/applying updates in an organized manner rather than on-the-go. Definitely want to be downloading program updates on a hard line...
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.
