Thank you so much for looking into this issue! I am very new to Autocad (and 3d modeling in general), and I am unfamiliar with how blocknames work. The name "A$C3AD50F07" was given to the block when I used the _PASTEBLOCK command with the helix shape. I did everything in Autocad. As for the printer, I am using a "Cube 3" from 3D Systems (http://www.3dsystems.com/3d-printers/personal/cube). It comes with software to convert common file types (.stl, .obj, etc.) into files that the printer accepts. The software is called "Cube Print" and is available at this URL address: http://www.3dsystems.com/shop/support/cube/downloads I'll check out Cura and Simplify3D too. Anything that will make the block printable while maintaining its shape will work. If all else fails I would be willing to simply remake the shape.
