In my previous version 2011 LT I was able to attach a tool bar with the "object snap settings" to the left side of the drawing area. Example: Mark a line (left click); choose "midpoint" and start a new line from this point. Or rotate the line with "endpoint" as a basepoint. These operations are of course crucial for the drawing work.
I have not managed to make the same arrangement in the 2017 version.
Suggestions?

Type in -TOOLBAR (with the dash). Then enter OBJECT_SNAP, then choose SHOW.

You want a tool bar for Osnaps. If you already have a tool bar showing then right click and chose from the list. Otherwise go into the CUI, pick current work space, pick customize work space (right hand side), back to left side to Toolbars, expand, pick Osnaps, pick Done on Right side, Apply, and OK.
Probably an easier way but that will get you there.
