Thanks for your replies.  Yes, I understand.  I wonder if that is what I have going on.  What I did though, was extrude a circle and located features around the circle with lines for reference.  The lines were drawn before the extrusion...and when it extruded or presspulled, that broke the shape up into pieces defined by the reference lines.  Does this make sense?  When I drew a similar shape and deleted the lines before extruding or presspull, the shapes came out without the surface lines.  So, rather than going back and drawing some of this again, I was hoping to delete or undo some kind of feature to take these surface lines, which are not an my actual part. 

 

Hmmm...is this a lesson in drawing order and technique or can these lines be removed?
