Installation Autocad 2017

I am trying to install Autocad 2017 and I am receiving the error that the acdeployui.dll file is not found.   I look at the path and the file is there.   I know there are installation problems with some .dll files.   What do I do?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

I am sorry to see that you are having problems getting AutoCAD 2017 to install.  Please review these Best Practice steps to ensure a successful install.

It also sounds like your download of the install package might not be complete or have gotten corrupted. Try again using the Virtual Agent. Most users have good success with it.

Alternatively, you can also download a Trial and then apply your licensing to it.

I suggest that you install anything that you just tried to install, remove the folders using Windows Explorer and again follow the Best Practice steps.

John,

I did try to download and install a trial version and was receiving the
same error as with the DVD version. I just tried the virtual download and
the same error occurred. I have attached a screen print of the error. I
looked at the path and the acdeployui.dll file is in the correct path. I
have tried to reinstall many times with the same error.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Seth Grossman

Hi Seth - I don't see your attachment.  I wonder if this is a firewall or security software issue.  Are you on a corporate network? If not, simply disable (temporarily) the firewall on your workstation and try again.  If you are on a network I can send you some exceptions for connecting to the Autodesk servers.

Here is the attachment. I am disabling the firewall. I am at home and not
on a corporate network.

Seth, there is still no attachment (Put in a ZIP perhaps when you attach)...can you describe what it is telling us?  Perhaps an error number or missing something?

Does this come through. It is telling me the acdeployui.dll file failed to
load.

Hi Seth, it didn't appear but lets try this:

1.)In the root of the installation folder Load the setup.ini file in notepad.
2.) Locate the line in the AutoCAD LT section that begins with UI_SEQUENCE=
3.) Delete from that line ",StartTabSettingsPage" and save the changes.
4.) Run the installer again.

Please let me know if this works for you.

installation folder?

HI Seth, It should be in a location similar to this one:

C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2017_English_Win_64bit_dlm

Hi Seth,

I think then it is time to use the Windows Control panel > Programs. Remove all the AutoCAD 2017 stuff you find there.

Next clear your User TEMP folder, remove the installer folder and any other AutoCAD 2017 folders you find on your system.

Verify that you have the correct C++ and .Net installed (see the Best Practice I sent you earlier)

Next, check to make sure that you have all the windows updates installed. Reboot and don't let any applications run.

Turn off your Firewall and any anti-virus software.

Again, use the Virtual Agent or go to your account page and use the BROWSER download (ends up in two files I think).

When you start the install, rt-click the install file and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
