HI @MarkFitz,

Hello John,
I am aware of the hatching, thanks for the reminder though, I need to reduce it, I was wanting to print the drawing so I could physically see what it looked like, and thus how much to fix, again, thanks for the reminder. Yes - keeping the drawings clean always makes it a happier environment!
John, if I may, let me ask you, in terms with which I am familiar...
We have a large, detailed drawing of the entire plant, made from x-refs compiled from smaller sectional drawings of each building, and in turn each production line within that building. This is done as x-refs, because...? So that when a change is made to one of the smaller drawings, it is then automatically reflected to the overall larger drawing, correct? So we don't have to constantly play catch-up between manually made changes on the smaller drawing, and having to keep updating the larger drawing every time a smaller drawing is altered. Is this basically correct? (A one word answer here is perfectly acceptable). Yes, you have the concept down! In addition, to clean out those xref files, run RECOVERALL on the master and it should work on all the attached files too!
To save us all time, I purchased the Mastering AutoCAD 2016 book over the weekend, do you have recommendations as to where I start? Probably with the whole x-ref/viewport/model-paper space things, as this seems to be my biggest failing at the moment. Sounds like a good place. Of course the Community forums are here too to troubleshoot, give advice, and to teach.
My thanks to your good self, to Patchy, and to all the people in the ACAD forums for giving so much of their time with fast, helpful responses in minutes, not days, to help us lesser mortals out as we need it. I believe my issue is resolved, I would like your response to my paragraph above still, if you would.
Thanks guys,
Mark
