AutoCAD 2017 LT

When selecting an object using a command. I'm not able to see that I have it selected... Could someone tell me the setting to fix this b/c it's almost like I'm blind trying to delete overlapping lines.

Example:

First if I select anything, the lines / objects all look fine and natural. I can see the grips and everything in blues etc.

If I use the erase command and select a object. It highlights a dark grey... This I can get used to. But when a line is drawn on top of  a line. I can't see it at all then... For instance if I have a cabinet and someone drew some extra lines for construction purposes. Now I find them later and want to delete them as they throw off my snaps. But I can't see them while lasso'ing in these areas. So I have no clue if they were picked. :cara_de_decepción:

OVERKILL might be the command for you.
