Fatal Error AutoCAD 2016

Trying to open Autocad 2013 project and getting this message (see attachment).

It works ok if I open new file or Autocad 2016 file.

Tryed different PCs with differetn instalations -- the same problem.

If open in 2013 -- there is no error. Everyting is ok

Could somebody help? What's the problem?

Thanks.

No attachment.

Can you share that DWG file with us?
Did you try opening the file with RECOVER command from inside AutoCAD?

Hi @Anonymous

We are unable to see the attachment, please attach the file again and or screen shots.

  • Were you the original creator of this project?
  • When was the last time you were able to open the file?

As a test try the following;

  1. Open a brand new AutoCAD DWG
  2. Type RECOVERALL in the command line
  3. Select the troubled file and run the command.
  4. After RECOVERALL is complete type RECOVER in the command file and select the newly cleaned file.

Let us know if you are able to open the file after that.

Thanks.

@Anonymous

Can you post your drawing to the forum thread?

Did you get this error after running the suggested commands?

It would be helpful if you provided more information to better assist you with your issue in AutoCAD?

Try running the followng file clean up steps;

  1. (-)PURGE > Regapps > Enter>No
  2. (-)PURGE>ALL> Enter>No
  3. AUDIT> Yes
  4. PURGE > Select Purge nested items> Select Automatically purge orphaned data > Purge All
  5. CTRL+A > OVERKILL (Warning: running the command modifies your geometry by deleting objects you might need in your structure)
  6. Close and Save newly purged file (ex. CLEANED_file)
  7. Apply workflow.
