Here are some other tips you may want to consider with your AutoCAD setup.

These are strictly a preference that I use. You can set it up however you want.

Everyone has a different Flavor when it comes to AutoCAD or other software,

so be your own judge and what ever makes it easier for you to use AutoCAD, run with.

Like the background color we talked about. I prefer black model space and paper space.

Some prefer white because that represents how it would print out on white paper.

For me white backgrounds are too bright, so I run with black backgrounds.

My Flavor of AutoCAD Tips:

Floating Command Line:  I prefer it to be locked at the bottom of my screen with 3 lines of text showing.

To move, select left side and drag to the bottom of your screen. It may take a few times, but it will gradually snap into place.

Then pick the top line ( where the arrow point is touching ) to change how many command lines you want to have showing.

Floating Command Text Box:  I prefer only to have my commands being shown at the bottom at the Command Line

To change the location type:  DYNMODE        Set to:  -1    ( you must add the minus sign then 1 )

Use F2 to see what commands you had previously typed.

F2 comes in handy when finding lengths that you just did and need the same distance for next command

Earlier changes we made:

PICKBOX SIZE CHANGE TYPE:  PICKBOX  ( I PREFER 5 )

GRIPBOX SIZE CHANGE TYPE:  GRIDBOX ( I PREFER 5 )

CURSORSIZE CHANGE TYPE:  CURSORSIZE  ( I PREFER CURSIZE TO FILL THE ENTIRE SCREEN AT 100 )

Hope these changes help with your progress with AutoCAD 2025.

Enjoy!!

JRR!
