Hi,
when does this error occur?
What are your system info's like operating system, graphic card, memory, what AutoCAD version and service pack are you using?
The more information you give the better we can answer ...

Hi,
>> it happens when I try to close the program(AutoCad 2016)
So this error appears after all drawings are closed, but before AutoCAD itself is closed?
In that case I guess you have tools/applications installed on top of AutoCAD, is that correct?
>> My Materials Browser (2016) crashes
Please show a screenshot where exactly you click/double click to get the crash ... and does that happen on built-in materials or also on self created materials as well as does that happen with drawings, which had materials from older AutoCAD releases.
A good test would be to create a new drawing (using an AutoCAD original template) and try the same procedure so we know that nothing comes up from old releases.
One general question: when you started AutoCAD 2016 the first time did you migrate the settings from your prev. AutoCAD release?

My problems seem to have started after I downloaded 2015 without uninstalling 2016 first, so I had both of the versions running on my system. (I had way too many problems with 2016 so I gave up on it) I tried several times to re-install/repair both versions but could never get the programs back to their original default state. Over the last month things just got worse and worse. For instance I lost all my snap points in Conceptual mode so I would have to do all my snaps in 2D wireframe. (can you imagine!) ha! Objects would suddenly disappear or move. My material browser would crash the program when I tried to edit a material from the material library, all of my x-refs would turn into text and wouldn't reload because it couldn't find the path, and then finally I couldn't close either the window or the program without getting a Fatal Error message before crashing. What I ended up doing last night was to uninstall both 2015 and 2016 and then I uninstalled Microsoft.net Framework and a whole crap load of Microsoft Visual C+ files, and various other files that the uninstaller didn't get. I then re-installed 2015 and now everything works great. I finally got the program back to it's default state!
I'm taking an online course in AutoCAD right now so I'm fairly new to this stuff but if I had to do everything all over again I would of downloaded 2015 and just skipped over 2016. Nothing ever worked right for me with it. Good Luck everyone.

Hi,
good to know you got it working.
For future just one tip: never do installation in the reverse order of releases, that is one of my basic rules and I guess it's really important. Ich case you needed to install 2015 after 2016 my way would have been to do a clean uninstall of 2016 before starting 2015 installation.
Have a nice day, - alfred -
