problems loading drawings from parent company in China
Hi, I have an issue with loading files from our tool builders in China. I work for an automotive die stamping company and our files come from China where our tools are made. The problem I'm having is when I open the file, this pops up.
Then after clicking Specify replacement
I have contacted our parent company in China to see what software they are using, They are using AutoCAD 2005 simplified Chinese. So somehow the AutoCAD 2023 that I am currently using is not communicating with the AutoCAD 2005 simplified Chinese ??? Am I missing something here???

You need to get a copy of their SHX font files.

you need to ask the file creator to share all missing content (that includes SHX bigfonts and shape files) with you: if they use AutoCAD2005 that would be ETRANSMIT command, but it will need to be set to capture all of that content.
here is a tutorial for you and them:

Nope, you cannot usually find any online or built-in "something" you have that will be a 100% true substitute. Nope, AutoCAD 2023 can open AutocAd2005 file just fine, you're just missing content unique to them that they need to share with you.
