The Autodesk requirements are for the software to function, not necessarily to function well. If the program is using 4GB, then you'll still need RAM for the operating system, other programs, and probably for the on-board graphics card (unless you disable it and use only the dedicated card).
The 768 resolution height would be unbearable for me to model on. I think you're setting yourself up for a lot of frustration trying to 3D model on one of these two laptops.
