Thank you for the reply. However, I prefer to stay with cfg files if they still exist. Do they? If so, how do I create one?

Are you using AutoCADMECHANICAL (this forum is not for that software) https://help.autodesk.com/view/AMECH_PP/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-7B839DA7-C93B-4C0D-A632-8B09481EF042#:~:...)

If you are only using plain AutoCAD (topic of this forum), what challenge are you facing that we can help you with creating and using CTB (or STB) plot style tables?

and which printer/plotter/driver are you wishing to use predominantly?

Here is a snip from HELP to get you started with plot style tables method

https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2023/ENU/index.html?guid=GUID-133D3E2C-C016-4543-A4A9-47B1D21C742...

or consider not using any plot style tables at all for line weights, and dive into using LWEIGHT settings instead (not compatible with PLINEs with Width)

https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2023/ENU/index.html?guid=GUID-DFDA9EE3-D303-44AE-973F-1AA57A9BB06...

AutoCAD MECHANICAL (if that is what you are using) has a forum over here for your CFG import needs (not a plain AutoCAD ability) https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-mechanical/ct-p/2002
