DXF Point Information Not Displaying in Autocad 2022 When Transferred from Total Station
Hi All,
I am having a bit of an issue when transferring information from my total station in to Autocad via USB stick.
I require the surveyed point id, coordinates and height to be displayed but when i open the DXF in CAD, only the white cross is displayed. If i ID the point it shows the correct coordinates and height so i am looking for a way to have these displayed on the screen alongside the point.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Sean,
Civil 3D can do this all day long without breaking a sweat. But if you have only Vanilla AutoCAD you'll need to use fields to make labels. X, Y, and Z are easy. Point id might not be possible.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply. I actually have access to Civil 3D at work, if i opened it in that, would it just be a case of opening the DXF and all the information will be displayed or is there a specific way in which i achieve this?
Cheers

Sean,
If you export a point file in CSV format from your total station, then Civil 3D can display all the information just by setting a point label style. A DXF file will require a bit more work, mostly depending on how the point number and description are stored with each point.
