Hello,
I am having an issue, but just in the one drawing. When I Copy Basepoint and try to paste, things get slightly strange. Either the previous Windows clipboard item is pasted , or nothing at all is pasted. Some blocks copy and paste just fine, but others (the purple hashed circle, in this case) refuse to paste.
I have tried deleteing constraints, Audit and Purge but to no avail. I also reinstalled AutoCAD.
Any help will be gratefully received.
TIA,
dash

I converted the drwaing to a Block, then Burst that Block and all is now good.
I'd be curious to know what the issue was though, and if there is an easier fix. If Oh Wise Cad Wizards could enlighten me, that would be great.
Cheers,

Hello. Thank you for looking at this for me.
It is the one shown above named "dash_1T motor point".

It is not shown on your screen grab but is to the right of that image.

no problems copy with basepoint that block over to attached new dwg.
I just added the T in the attribute value to show that it's working.
I did this in AutoCAD 2020. What AutoCAD version are you using?

Hi Paul,
Thank you for that.
Something is definitely amiss but perhaps it is with my Windows device. I am now able to copy that block within the drawing ("Copy_paste issue") but then when I select another block after, the first block pastes and not the second. It is confusing.
I can copy/paste your T block no problem.
Here is the About:
Perhaps there's an issue with my Clipboard, but I've only noticed it in AutoCAD.
Thanks again for your help,

Hello Paul,
Thanks again for your continued assistance.
I've installed the updates and restarted but to no avail.
This same problem is what inspired me to uninstall AutoCAD 2023 and install 2024. It's quite mystiying.
If I copy something outside of AutoCAD, when I re-enter the drawing that is the first thing that pastes. Perhaps that's the norm though.
Once I copy/paste, now the issue happens with this block:
I appreciate your insight, as I really have no idea what is occuring.

As a possible additional issue, that block has copied incorrectly. It normally has white lines around the edges. Something here is very weird.

Seems like it's only happening on your device. I even just tested on 2024 and no problem with copy with base and paste. I'm running on Windows 10 Pro. Are you on the same OS or different?

I don't think Win 11 should be the cause since 2024 is designed to support that platform. But you may want to try to report this to Autodesk to see if they'll follow-up:
In the meantime, if you have access to another computer system, that would be another way to troubleshoot the problem.

I haven't access to another system presently, but I can muddle through with work arounds.
I have opened a case with Autodesk support. I'll follow up here if they find the cuase.
Thank you so much for your help, I sincerely appreciate your time.
All the best,
