plotter driver location

good morning.

i am attempting to configure an hp designjet 510 plotter for autocad 2022.

what directory(s) do i put the drivers in so autocad 2022 sees them?

thanks,

Greetings @draftingPPLZJ

The HP drivers for your HPDJ510 are installed in Windows just like HP wants you to do, you don't "put them" anywhere else for AutoCAD (and your other programs) to use.

If you are trying to create PC3 files from that already installed Windows driver (they are not drivers BTW, those are pointers with presets), those go in the folder that opens with you run PLOTTERMANAGER command in your AutoCAD 2022.

thank you for your response.

i downloaded from the hp.com site, what they call drivers for the hp designjet510.

i also did a firmware update on the plotter, because the latest drivers for this machine are from 2013.

i also restarted my computer.

still no luck.

i am running windows 10 and autocad 2022.

thanks again.

Hi @draftingPPLZJ

Does the DesignJet 510 appear in the dropdown of the Printer section of the PLOT window? If it's not displayed, do you want to add DesignJet 510 to the dropdown?

You selected this windows driver (without a  pc3 at the end of the name) from plotter drop down in Plot dialog?

Read this, your old plotter and its driver is the problem with newer versions and operating systems https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/HP-printers-do-not...
