easiest way to hollow 3d solids

I'm looking for the easy way to manipulate a 3d solid to a skeletal form.

For instance, if I wanted a 3d shape to be hollowed out and see-through, only connected at its angles. Structural framing only.

If I understand you correctly, then to see through the solid you just need to switch the visual style to XRay. Or use the regular 2D or 3D wireframe style. Use _VisualStyle command or the on-screen menu in the upper left corner of the model.

We are here in the AutoCAD forum.

The native AutoCAD can not handle with .stl files.

For more information search in the forum for ".stl file" or similar - you will find more detailed answers.
