Correct, so color no longer matters in STBs, yet you still wish to employ them?
In TABLESTYLE you color choices for "borders" are BYBLOCK or BYLAYER, and both of those work well with STBs (you either set the block STB style or the layer's STB style).
If you need more control than that, you are going to get into LWEIGHT settings too.
For the TEXT portion of TABLESTYLE, if you still use SHX fonts, you can choose from BYBLOCK or BYLAYER or use different predefined text STYLEs for what look you need for DATA, HEADER and TITLE Cell text styles.
If you use TTF fonts those ignore plot style tables and always plot as they were designed to look, so that's never a concern.
STB is different. You sort of have to also think differently: remember, color means nothing now. You give up some level of absolute control IMHO.
