Help with re-drawing an existing drawing

Hi guys,

I am trying to re-draw an existing drawing with scale 1:200 and I am a bit confused how to scale and draw it accurately. Any help will be much appreciated.

@epolydorou01 You seem to have dimensions in there.... so you attached that image in AutoCAD, draw over it t whatever scale it comes in at, when complete you use ALIGN command to scale up what you drew to a line drawn at one of those scales (like the horizontal 9800 or 8044 dimension).

Even better if you are on subscription nd can install the free Raster Design Tools to help cleanup and fix the noise in that image too.

@epolydorou01

-Insert your drawing into autocad

-Put the drawing on a layer and lock it

-Trace over the whole drawing geometry on someother layer (dont trace over dimensions tho)

- Once that is done, use a measurement on your drawing for a scale refrence.

Trace a line perfectly over the 2100mm dimension line.

Next draw a line that is truly 21100mm long.

Then use your traced line and scale reference it up to your real length of 21100mm

- Your drawing is now to scale

- Increase your dimstryle to 1:200

- Now fine tune all of dimesions and dratfting element to match your drawing

- Finally put that on a template with a 1:200 scale

OR

Post your drawing and we'll scale reference it for you...

I would scale the image to the correct size before drawing over it.  This will let you draw linework as it is dimensioned.

Still trace it but use the actual dimensions.

this is what I am trying to do but I get confused with the angles of the pipe

The angles seem to be 30 degress (or 150) Horizontal Plane (plan view).  Couple of them are labled on image.

It was not drawn to scale, you have to draw it to scale.

@epolydorou01  Here is your drawing to scale 1 : 200 on a 11X17 sheet.  Drawing would look a bit better at 1:150 or 1:120 scale which i have also included.

As for the angles, see annoted image.

important information for you : this drawing has been drafted ''not to scale''. So other that reproducing the drawing for informational reference, you will not be able to measure off of it. I used the 21100mm to scale it up and the other dimensions do not correspond. Your new drawing scale should be NTS (not to scale).
