How do I move on the Z Axis?

Hello, I am Keegan, and I work with Bhansali Steels

I'm very new to AutoCAD so sorry if this is an easy fix. I must've clicked something somewhere but I am no longer able to drag objects with the move function diagonally. I can only drag objects along the x or y axis. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Change your OSNAPZ and see if it helps.

What you describe is not about the Z axis [that is up off the page].  Read about using >ORTHO< -- the ORTHOMODE System Variable, the F8 key, the ORTHO command, or this in the status bar:

Since you are asking about moving in Z, I assume that you are working in 3D and using the 3dmove command and not the plain move command.

The placement of your cursor for 3dmove controls and constrains the direction of moves. For example, placing the cursor in the highlighted area will constrain moves to the a plane parallel to the YZ plane.  If ortho lock is on the move will be constrained to only the y or z direction for the highlighted sector.
