None vertical and horizontal lines are light gray when PUBLISHING to pdf, but are black when PLOTTING single pages

I regularly use PUBLISH to convert multiple pages to PDF. I am printing in Monochrome. When I use PUBLISH, every line that is not horizontal or vertical comes out light gray and hard to see, which is my issue. When I use PLOT, to plot a single page, all of the lines come out black and uniform, as expected. Obviously PUBLISH is the quickest way to plot multiple pages, so I would like to utilize it. I do not want to have to plot each page individually and then combine them into one package in Adobe, as it takes too much time.

The gray washed-out line issue only occurs when using PUBLISH. Anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

P.S. I tried uploading PDF examples, but was prompted that the file type (PDF) was invalid.
