dwg to pdf plotting a manageable file

Hi

I'm looking for a way to print my dwg to a flat pdf with minimal model information. It can be raster or vector, it just has to be easily plottable.

The problem I have is that when I create pdfs, I can plot them to paper in my office but when I send them out to others, half of them can't. Some can't even open and view the file.

I normally use the built in dwg to pdf printer which creates high quality files and paper plots. I have tried primo which takes a long time to print and produces worse quality images (doesn't look like my on-screen preview). I have also tried the Adobe pdf printer that comes with Acrobat pro. Again, the file takes a long time to print and creates an image that isn't very good.

I understand that my settings in Adobe might not be optimal so this could be the problem. The wait to print to pdf is still unacceptable.

The best-case scenario is to get a high quality small size vector pdf with only essential visible information so everyone can plot to paper despite the power of their hardware.

Came here to find an answer to this question. Have you had any luck yet?

@becca.deeley Use a 3rd party "free" PDF driver, do not allow for saved layers, do not use LINE OVERWRITE, do not save LAYERS, do not save HYPERLINKS, do not create BOOKMARKS, do not use TTF fonts.

If this is mission critical however, you will need to purchase a third party PDF editor to get that result.
