Filling in complex 3D solid

AutoCAD 2019

I have a piece of equipment that is very large in file size, 35.5MB, just on its own. This DWG has only 3D solids in it (about 2k) and each piece is represented, like nuts, bolts, and washers - even the voids within pipes.

My goal is to make a single 3D solid that does not have shared surfaces, I don't want to see the outline of the threaded bolt or pipes ID wall when in 2D wireframe - just a shell of the overall equipment and depressious of where a connection would be. I am hoping this will make the DWG small enough to later make it into a block that can be used in our main drawing without causing lag issues and excessive lines in a plan view.

I have done/tried the following:

All general properties set to BYLAYER/COLOR

PURGE & -PU REGAPPS

SOLIDEDIT>BODY>CLEAN

SOLIDEDIT>BODY>SHELL (thought it would just make a skin over it all...nope)

I cannot share the actual file for NDA purposes, but I have attached a DWG for one of the connections to show an example of what I have.
