Beginner looking for help with "Open objects must be coplanar " error when trying to create a region

Hi

I`m quite new to Autocad and I`ve been following along to various YouTube videos etc. which have been very helpful. I`ve recently had a look at a video that includes a 3d drawing as well as Isometric and I`ve got stuck while creating the 3d view.  The video is by Tim Callinan and is on YouTube  (1998) AutoCAD Tutorial 17 - YouTube.   The part that has been a problem starts at about 56mins.  I`ve drawn the base and the cylinder but I`ve not managed to create a region out of the rib to enable me to extrude.  I keep getting the coplanar error despite having drawn the rib about 30 times.  Can anyone offer any advice or anyway to find out exactly what the coplanar error is ?   If possible I will attach a copy of my DWG.  Its only the 3d part, thats on the right hand side,  that I`m concerned with.  Thanks for reading

Hi @lesley.morrey,

Welcome to the AutoCAD forums community!

Thank you for providing your drawing, I may have found a couple things:

The upper line is  2 lines, the line on the right crosses the top of the solid, the one on the left is only part of the outline of the region area.

I am seeing the same error, and when I view from the Right side, the darker section of lines shows they are not all on the same plane.  The gap is visible if you zoom zoom in further, this view is not as I wanted to provide other parts for reference.

This may be the one that is offset:

I would start with redrawing the lines, then check the solids if your snap points are still off.

All the best,
