PDF Whiteout - Good Example

A month or so ago, I posted a question in the forum about having a PDF that when converted into CAD, had an all white background that covered most of the actual detail. Part of the problem of reconciling this issue was that the PDF in question was one page of a PDF document. I now have a prime example of the issue so I'm sending the PDF with this request to see if we can work the actual problem out.
If you see what I see once converted to CAD, then all you see is a white background no border with a handful of drawings of windows and doors, but no dimensions. If you choose a command to adjust the image, like erase for example, then hover your cursor over the drawing, you will see the details appear. My question is, how do I get rid of the white but keep the details?

I don't see any problems with the .pdf file that you attached.  When I download the document, there is a full titleblock, dimensions and all that I would expect.  Unless you're talking about the clouded areas, and then there is nothing inside the clouds?

Maybe look into your .pdf viewer?  Are you using Bluebeam or Adobe or some free viewer from the internet?

I have attached a screenshot of what I see when I view the .pdf you attached.  Maybe you can point out what I'm missing?

In both AutoCAD 2021 and 2022, this is what I see below with the parameters shown below that, no "whiteouts" except at the text because the PDF creator must have had MTEXT mask on or something similar when they printed to their BlueBeam driver, the rest of your content is missing because their are just images

You have a lot or RASTER content in your PDF. That's the problem you cannot control with only the PDF at your disposal

You probably need to use a 3rd party PDF to DWG converter, or get in touch with the PDF creator and you two together work through BlueBeam options and settings and understand what in the file is RASTER vs what is VECTOR.

Admitedlly there doesn't seem to be an easy way around this issue. I've tried a bunch of work arounds and nothing seems to work.

OK, so if the rest of us don't see what you see, Chad, Pendean even suggests using a 3rd party software, how are you able to view this as normal???

Perhaps I should just send all my PDFs to you so you can convert them for me   :cara_guiñando_un_ojo:

@MarkFitz Your issue is the unfortunate PDF you received from others trying to fake Raster Images as actual drawn CAD content.

You either need to ask your source for actual 100% CAD vector content files, or buy a 3rd party PDF to DXF/DWG convert that is designed to specifically remove the issues you want all the time.

There is no magic software on this planet, some poor SOB still has to do the hard work of cleaning up junk files.

Now you know :cara_guiñando_un_ojo:

Ahhh Pendean, your smooth skills in linguistics, you always know exactly what to say...     ...to end the conversation.

*tips hat* thanks for this one, now at least I can stop asking.

So if I'm to propose a purchase to my boss, are there any recommendations I can use as a starting point for my research?

Cheers,

MarkF

@MarkFitz you are welcome :cara_guiñando_un_ojo:

You will have to test each one you find before you buy: this one is popular in the forums among users seeking that ability https://www.dotsoft.com/pdf2dwg.htm then explore others like https://www.techradar.com/best/best-pdf-to-autocad-converter
