extruding complex 2d shapes is causing autocad to crash

hello,

ive been working on a complex wiggle that ive been trying to presspull mainly to turn it into a 3d shape but autocad keeps crashing.

im not a novice but im no expert.

im running a pretty high end machine.

- 32gb of ram

- ryzen 9 -12 core processor

- *3XS* ASUS 5500 XT DUAL EVO OC

can anyone help me define what the issue is please ?

is it hardware ?

software ?

or just me being a novice ?

drawing attached.

cheers,

EDU file? from MECH version of AutoCAD too.

See attached, purged the file and changed Shademode to 2D for this exercise, no issues in R2021.1.1 in WIn10Pro here.

your DWG file contains AUTOCADMECHANICAL content (aka MECH), so you did not create this file from plain AutoCAD alone in your Educational software. Or are you using MECH?

Either way there is nothing wrong with your file, no crashes here.
