identifying closed loops formed between polylines

Hello,

I am simulating (2D) heat transfer on window standing on facade of a building. Geometry is made in AutoCAD or sometimes in draftsight.

I assign layers in AutoCAD according to material. The geometry is full of closed polylines. This enclosed area contains the material and material properties are assigned in another tool.

In this process, some closed areas/gaps are formed between the polylines which also contain material (air in my case) but do not explicitly belong to any layer. To assign material here, I have to perform some work around in simulation tool which is time consuming. Is it possible to identify such loops and assign them to layer or something like that?

I am attaching my dwg file and a screenshot of the loops that I expect to identify.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Saketh
