Hi,

I suggest to try :

  1. Enter the -PURGE command and choose Regapps >> * >> N >> then save .
  2. Enter the PURGE command and select all options.
  3. Enter the -SCALELISTEDIT command and reset the scale list.
  4. Enter the FILTERS command and delete layer filters.

Hello

This hasn't worked, is there another way what is the reason i never had
this problem on 2018

Im reverting back to old drawings which were 100kb and saving them and they
are enlarging to 7500kb

Which program in use, AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT?

then use command

-EXPORTTOAUTOCAD

to create a new clean file

This is a file contain a lot of CIVIL3D stuff, what you can not use in AutoCAD

and if nobody else need the Civil3D data in your file, then use -ExportToAutoCAD.

I open your CAD dxf file then _purge ( Regapps ) >> save it as .dwg file .. when i convert it for .dwg file , the size reduced to 1.18MB . But when i make save as to dxf file it come back big file. The DWG file format is a compressed format, while DXF files are an ASCII text format. These files will always be larger than the originating DWG.

Funny about file sizes and saving. I started a new drawing, purged all out... saved and file size was 349.

Save 2nd time and it went to 504, saved 3rd time and stayed at 504.

Took your DXF file that was 769. Saved as -1 and file size was 262... did a 2nd save and file went to 405.

Ran OVERKILL... there was 110 over laid lines.. and did save as -1A.. file went down to 261. did a 2nd save and file went up to 392.....

Ran some other tests... Zoomed way in save file went up. Zoomed way out file went down...

Not going to help anyone but just thought I'd have some fun in sharing.

How do you explain 1 point being 7550kb
RobDraw

There is content stored in those files from C3D making them bloated.

How do you explain that?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Thats not my point, im saving files i saved previously on autocad 2018
which is 200kb and saving the same file on autocad 2022 and it saves at
7500kb there is surely a glitch in 2022
