Bursted attribute info reappearing

I was working on a file using burst and explode. I saved it several times. When I went from model space to paper space all of the attribute information had be bursted out and was visible. The drawing is a mess. Mind you I had gone around the building bursting/exploding blocks/text and also deleting the attribute info as I went along. Now it is present in both paper and model space. ALSO, the bursted blocks are now gray but the color is back in some of the blocks. So now I have gray bursted and magenta blocks. ALSO, in some locations the magenta ones do not sit on top of the gray ones in the same location. Some are further apart; some are just a smidge apart. And in some areas the match perfectly. But this overlap is so random, it does fit a simple shift one way or the other. Mind you I saved as I went about the whole process several times. Any ideas????

I also received this error during the whole process and I could not use BURST but kept getting this error. I closed down and came back in and could use burst again.

"cannot invoke (command) from *error* without prior call to (*push-error-using-command*). Converting command calls to (command-s) is recommended"

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
