Tracking turned off?

Hi,

I had to reset autocad 2020 to bring back a glitched dynamic input box. Unfortunately, the setting where you can make a point on a line, with a little 'X' has disappeared. To explain further say If I had two equidistance lines at a perpendicular angle, both joined at the end of the line to create a triangle with no hypotenuse, I would place my cursor on the opposite end of each line, to mark it and then extend each at a perpendicular angled to form a square. Hopefully someone knows the feature I am talking about and how to either get it back or turn it on again.

Thanks,

Max

(sorry if this is dumb I am somewhat new to autocad!)

Polar tracking?

If you need a square or rectangle though, just use either the polygon or rectangle command.

talking about a square was providing an example with which the feature can be used, I know about the command you just mentioned but your suggestion does not help with my question, I do not know if what I am talking about is tracking or whatever, all it does is mark a point on a line when you keep the cursor on it for a few seconds, creating a marked x on that point with which u can use extension tracking ( i think ) to create an extension from that point.

It's Object Snap Tracking [the F11 key turns it on/off].

FYI, equidistant lines are parallel.

OSnap Tracking as mentioned above.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
