I really must extend a huge thanks to DanielSanders4280 & flellogg for their time and effort put into my inquiry.

It was some very interesting reads.   flellogg when you mentioned "flipping" or some other action, I too have learned to do such things, and I call it "shaking it".  I can always count on folks that participate in the forums to respond quickly and thoroughly.  But I must say at this point that after drawing cartoons for food, per-se, for over 40 years that I am still capable of doing some really silly things.  :cara_con_los_ojos_en_blanco:In this case, i had inadvertently attempted to add hatching before entering the block editor.  I failed to recall that.  so after hatching in the block editor and exiting I was seeing the hatch that covers the ID of the part and didn't remember I had done that outside of the editor .  so opening the block, not there.  exiting, it was there.  well of course, it was in model space I put it there.  I realized this after I posted here, when I moved the block and the suspect hatching stayed behind.

I apologize for wasting the members valuable time.  thanks for all you effort.
