Hi all,
Looking for someone to shed some light on a problem I have. Completed a 3D assembly yesterday. Saved it and a .bak file was created. Came in this morning to a power cut. However when I came open the file which are there and I can see the image of the assembly it just wont open. I click and just a blank screen. Any ideas? Its for an assignment I need to get in or if someone could take a look for me. I will be happy to loose everything on this drawing as long as my model space drawing is all good.

This is an absolute stab in the dark and I am no expert but have you tried to recover the file with recovery manager? If it opens when doing this save the file with a different name and then try to close and open the new file.

Another thing that springs to mind is are there any ac$ files created around the time that you saved the first file?
If you look at your options page it will tell you where the temporary files are stored and you can look for them there.

Hi James,
Trying to sort this out is all new to me. I am just so desperate to get that assembly back. Are you able to do anything your end with the file to remove whatever is necessary?
Recover manager didn't want to know
Appreciate any help here

Hi,
I suggest to search this path in your computer C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Local\Temp . find the files that have the same file name . take a copy and rename the extension to .dwg then open it . don't forget that your file name extensions is selected from windows explorer .
