I second using the print to PDF option (I'd use the High Quality Print one), but you don't want to make your boundaries white (255,255,255) because it will be visible as it crosses non-white objects.  Instead, use the Layer Properties Manager to set the boundary layer to non-plotting/printing.  The hatches obviously need to be on a separate layer.
