File Recovery

I was creating a hatch and area was to big to hatch so AutoCAD froze. I closed the app and tried to recover my file through the recovery manager. The .dwg file was an old one, but there is a .sv$ file however I cant open that file when I right-click. Just wondering is there any way to rectify this. Thanks

You can find the location of the files by going to "options" and the tab "files" and select "temporary file location"

Sometimes this location is hidden by your companies IT. Just copy the location into the search.

Onece found you can change the extension to dwg. Sometimes the extension isn't shown so you cannot change it. This setting is a system setting you have to change first.

Type "extensions"in your search and select "file extensions". This will bring you to the settings for developers. select the settings for extensions and UNtick the box about hiding extensions........ This will show all extensions of all filles.

Once this is set, you can change the AC$ to DWG . the system might ask you wether your sure..........

Good luck.
