select one of everything

Hi all, 

  is there a way in cad to select one of every block in a drawing and not pic up the duplicates ? for example in my power drawing i want to be able to copy one of very type of block quickly to be able to create a legend.

Hi,

 

there isn't a function like this - is right.

But if you start to search for: AutoCAD create legend

you will find some tools to do this in one step.

I have already tried this and have found nothing of any use is there any that you can suggest please ?

I can imagine a fairly easy way to do that if you mean within just the current space, and if you're not talking about dynamic Blocks.  Do those descriptions fit your situation?

 

If you would prefer to do it not by selecting one of each to Copy them, but by an independent Insertion of every Block that is Inserted anywhere in the drawing, that would not need to be limited to the current space, and could also cover dynamic Blocks, and would not be affected by the positional relationship of selected ones as collective Copying would.
