BLOCKS
CAN ANYBODY HEPL ME? WHEN I EXPLODE SOME BLOCKS THEY DISAPEAR FROM THE DRAWING IS THERE ANY WAY TO AVOID THAT PROBLEM. MY WORK ENTAILS HVAC DESIGN AND WHEN I GET ARCHITECTURAL BACKGROUNDS FROM MY CLIENT, I NEED TO CLEAN THE DRAWING UP TO DO MY WORK AND ALWAYS I CHANGE COLORS OF WALLS ETC. SO MY WORK STANDS OUT FROM THE ARCHITECTS, BUT THERE ARE BLOCKS FROM TOILETS, WINDOWS , DOORS ETC. THEY TEND TO DISPAIR AND I DON'T KNOE HOW TO FIXED THIS PROBLEM.
THANKS

Those are AEC objects drawn from vertical autodesk program that is why you need to ask for a plain autocad drawing and those objects would convert to regular blocks.

Can you do it by simply changing the colors assigned to the Layers of the things that make up those Blocks? Then presumably you wouldn't need to Explode them. If that isn't possible for some reason, and if the problem is because they're AEC objects, I agree with @Patchy that the next thing to try would be to ask the Architects to send you drawings without AEC objects. By that, we don't mean without toilets and doors at all, but with toilets and doors that are not AEC objects, that is, that are ordinary Blocks, or pre-Exploded, or something.

Could be as simple as a frozen (or off) layer. After exploding the block(s) thaw and turn on all layers. HTH

Have the architect exporttoautocad a version of your plan view with a medium screened display representation. It will automatically be in the background style with a 50% screened background/gray. You can then fiddle with the layer colors that contain objects you want in the foreground. ACA is designed to work well with AutoCAD and with consultants who don't have ACA.
