changing default print options (destination folder)

Hi  :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

My computer was recently reformatted to fix a bug but all of my settings reverted to defaults it seems.

One that I can't figure out how to fix is the default print to file location.

When I try to publish multiple pages (to PDF), in the pop -up menu there is a box labeled Publish Options.  There isn't anything in the menu I can click on to choose that the default print location be the most recently accessed folder.  When I try to delete the default folder ...\cadprintjobs\ in the hopes that it will then ask, Autocad crashes.

How do I set this the way I need?

So you cannot do these five steps in PUBLISH command to do what you want?

I am able to change the print location as you marked, but that's a default directory.  What I want is to remove that default location and have it assume it should print to the most recently printed to/accessed directory (i.e., wherever I printed to last time).

Not a huge deal, but it used to do that before my PC got reformatted and it's kind of a pain since we have a lengthy directory structure to have to specify everytime where I want it to print to if I am making changes to the same file and need to reprint to PDF.

Not an option once that default is set AFAIK, its a long term wishlist.

Do this built-in folder navigation ability as a workaround for now while others chime in with other ideas https://envisioncad.com/save-your-favorite-locations-in-autocad/

Thanks :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

The tips in the link look like it's just for saving files, though, not printing to a file.

I inherited this PC from a former draftsperson at our company.  Until just recently when my machine was reformatted to get rid of a computer restart glitch, printing to a PDF in Autocad always used to offer the last used file directory, not a default, so it must be something that Autocad CAN be set for, but I lost that setting with the PC reformat....

This tip is about how to add folders to the sidebar in AutoCAD's pop-up from OPEN, PUBLISH and way more: it is worth trying before dismissing since it works just fine :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

But hey, what do I know LOL

I am sorry.  I wasn't trying to dismiss.  When I skimmed through it I didn't see anything for Publishing so I guess I looked at it too quickly.

Thank you.

I'm away from CAD so I can't test this before posting.

Does changing the value of REMEMBERFOLDERS do anything for that?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Looking at the description, it seems like it ought to, but mine's already set to 1.

Strange, though, that when I just tried printing again, when I selected only a single page, it remembered the previous print to folder, but when I try to print multiple pages to PDF (which is 99% of the time what I need) it will not remember now, just goes to the default folder specified at the top in the publish options menu every time...
