Hi,
do you just need it once? Ever worked with 3D on your computer? Have you had trainings in any CAD-application (2D or 3D) yet?
If it's just like sketching you might try TinkerCAD >>>click<<< or Google SketchUp >>>click<<<, both free and easy to learn.
If you need more/exact details, dimensioning, preparing for manufacturing, analyses, ... you'll have to take something more powerful like Inventor, but that's combined with training. These products are not efficient usable with a "try-and-error"-mode.

No...im a novice and yes...for now it would probably be a onetime shot...or at least until my idea sold and I could really have the resources and money to learn as much as I could. Ill check these two things out and see what i can do.
