semi-truck back-up turning radius

I have a CAD template for a semi-truck (WB-67) forward turning radius.

Can I use the same template for this semi-truck when backing-up?

I've been looking all over the internet for this information to no avail.

Thank you.

Autodesk have a program called "Autodesk Vehicle Tracking". If you've got the AEC Collections you have it already.

If not, you might have to keep looking, I don't know if that information is freely available.

Any change you tried just searching that forum for similar posts to your question?
Otherwise your post's title makes no mention that you have the Autodesk Vehicle Tracking software: do you? It is free for most current paid subscribers (not legacy/ maintenance folks).

The path of the vehicle is the same forward as backward.  The key parameters in designing path requirements are:

Vehicle Turning Circle

Vehicle Steering Angle

Vehicle Wheelbase

These values are constant for vehicles regardless if you are moving forward or backward, now the driver's skill adds a whole other dynamic to the equation  :).

Thanks a lot Tim, your answer is exactly what I needed to know!!!!!!

By the way, I checked the Vehicle Tracking software, it is great; too bad it is too expensive.
