Remove (tab name here) from filename when saving PDF

Hello All,

I can't seem to find any recent information on this, but I may not just be searching the correct terms:

When printing to PDF, the name of the tab you're printing from is added onto the file name; is there any way to stop that from occurring? We're using Adobe PDF as our plotter, printing from the Model tab, so it adds "Model (1)" to all of our file names. The other PDF printers aren't much better, but at least they only print "Model".

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,

There is currently no way to change the default proposed name which is composed as following:

<file name>-<Layout name>.pdf

EESignature

Why don't you start using PUBLISH command (saving renamed layouts to reuse often)
Or better yet..
Start using SSM (SheetSet Manager) to permanently rename layouts in a project then PUBLISH from there?

Or pick up a free or cheap Windows based file renamer that strips whatever you want from all your completed PDF outputs.

"...printing from the Model tab, so it adds "Model (1)" to all of our file names."

"...is there any way to stop that from occurring?"

It is possible to create an AutoLISP routine that would do what you want. Try posting your question in the Customization group.
