Autocad Hardware Acceleration Issue
Hi,
I am an architectural student
Autocad 2016.
I am using a Dell xps L502x laptop with Nvidia geforce 540m 2gb graphics card. (Drivers are up to date)
I am experiencing constant TDR (Time out and recovery) graphics issues when using Autocad 2016 as well as Revit 2016.
Note: these happen at random and the graphics card is not under heavy use at the time of the error. It is at random.
I have found a work around in Revit 2016 by disabeling hardware acceleration.
However, in Autocad if I disable hardware accelration it is impossible to draw as the cursor lags, jumps staggers around.
Is there anyway I can fix this problem by keeping hardware acceleration on or off and having the use of a smooth operating cursor?
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
Craig

Can you try turning off hardware acceleration but ensure that smooth line display is on.
Also check the certified hardware list as i dont think the Nvidia Geforce is on that list. See link

Yes, I have checked the graphics card is not certified.
I have tried switching off hardware acceleration and keeping smooth line display ticked.
However, it does not resolve the problem. The curser still lags and jumps around.
Are there any other trouble shooting methods I can try?
Thanks in advance!
Craig
