If you have surveyed points from a surveyor, then you should use the survey itself, not your drawing, to locate those stakes.
Sure your points may be 4' offset from your drawing and sure, this is the way you've been told by the forum to draw those points, but that doesn't mean the drawing or the staked locations are correct. Your field crew may interpret the drawing differently from what you intended or your drawing may not comply with the surveyor's stake locations. Either way, incorrectly located stakes opens the door to liability for you, your boss, your firm and the general contractor.
Mention both the surveyor's points and the offset points to the general contractor and see which he prefers.
