Volumetric measurement
Hello everyone,
I would like to know if it is possible to calculate the volume of 3D designs (ex. cube, cylinder, ellipsoid or other irregular figures) with AutoCAD program?

I just used MASSPROP comand, and I got the the volumetric measurements. However, how do I know the units (micrometer, centimetre,...) ?

What are the assumed units of your model? If you assumed 1 = 1 cm then the units would be cm^3.
Of course it is always a good idea to have an idea of the approximate value to help validate the calculated value.
NOte that some other mass properties are a function of the position of the object with respect to the world UCS.

Well I selected "microns" in UNIT section. But still I would like to be really sure of the units that I am using. Is these other way, to confirm the units of measurement?

The units command is a bit confusing as it doesn't really set the units of your drawing. It sets a scale factor to be used when you insert another drawing into the drawing.
As I mentioned before, you should have an idea of the what magnitude of the volume should be when you use the massprop command. This should help you validate the output from the command. Create a simple solid (a box) that is approximately the size of the shape you are measuring. Use massprop on it. Are the results similar? Use the dist command to measure the shapes length, width and height. WHat volume do you get from these values? Are they consistent? This should help you gain confidence in the results from massprop (or not) .
