I have been using AutoCAD for about the last 14 years with the Function keys overridden for different O-Snap functions.
- F1 is now for Endpoint
- F2 is for intersection
- F3 is nearest point
- F4 is perpendicular
- …
- (F8 I left as ortho on/off though)
Often however, AutoCAD seems to „forget“ that F1 has an override so when used for an intended Endpoint o-snap, it opens up help, which is very very annoying. This has happened in every version of AutoCAD in this time frame, if i remember correctly. Not just to me either, but to colleagues and others around the world. In searching for a fix I stumbled upon a few suggested fixes, but none seem to work!
I’ve tried renaming and deleting the helppane.exe, to no avail.
I tried unchecking the box in Options > System Tab > Access Online Help When Available, also no luck.
Other than AVOIDING the problem by reassigning the F-Keys so that endpoint is now perhaps F11 instead of F1, does anyone have a fix for me?
