When we first started, all of our customization was housed in a network location and everyone accessed it from there. I found that was a pain because any time I wanted to make a change, everyone had to be out for the change to the palette to hold.  Other updates were easy though, as they could be updated on the fly (lisp routines)

When we switched to 2019, we started copying all support files to a local directory using a robocopy script, allowing everyone to run everything locally, and on login, it would refresh with any required updates.
