Autocad 2020 lags

Hey there , I have got autocad v2020 recently on my pc with a student license thing and Although I got an absolute powerful pc like ( 16GB Ram / gpu: Nvidia GeForce rtx2060/ cpu: AMD ryzen 5 3600 6-core 3.60Ghz ) .. but the autocad lags very much and I don’t really know why , I tried downloading different lower versions and still the same issue , wondering if someone can sort this out for me please

Thanks

There is a 2020.1.2 update out there, did you install it yet? It is mandatory but does not self-install.
Where do you store your files? That may be a culprit too.
Which video card driver are you using? That could be another issue.

Hi Omar,

Download and install this NVIDIA driver: https://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/155058

If the lagging persists after that, type ABOUT in AutoCAD and post a screenshot of the dialog that appears.

Hi @Anonymous, how ere you able to sort the AutoCAD lagging issue. We are facing the same issue here with our office PC. one pc has an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x with Asus Vgacard Rtx2060 and the other is AMD 5600x with zotac Cgacard Gtx-1660.

Starting a new drawing seems fine, but everytime we open an old drawing then the lagging issue starts. Anyone facing this here as well?

@info Why not use RECOVER command (or RECOVERALL command if there are XREFs) to fix those old files, then PURGE them, followed by a QSAVE to save the fixes, see if that helps.

@pendean ,thank you for your suggestion.

The lagging issue seems to be within the confinement of the drawing model space only.

We tried other options, and got it to work smoothly by setting the ucsdetect to 0.
