When:

The error occurs when moving from one side of the product (toolpath A) to the opposite side of the part where you want to machine with toolpath B.

 

Explanation:

Imagine having to travel from the North Pole to the South Pole.

There are so many ways to go from North to South.

"PowerMill will not decide this for you".

 

Solutions:

Define which way the tool should travel.

1. Workplane

You can add a workplane into your NC-program between the 2 toolpath.

The position is not that important.

The Z-Axis should point away from the product

(Image a workplane on the equator perpendicular to the earth surface.)

Check the NC output carefully before sending it to your machine!

 

2. Order

If you can change the order of your toolpath the situation will not occur.

I.e. machine 4 sides of a cube A-D in the order ABCD instaed of ACBD.

In that case you will only make steps of 90 degrees, not 180.
