I'm using AutoCad2024 on mac - I'm trying to add a breakline to a staircase with an extension of 100mm. No matter what I type into the command bar though, the extension doesn't add on to the ends of the breakline when i click enter. Any idea why this is please? Thanks in advance,

I cannot reproduce this problem.
Do you have this issue only in one particular drawing?
Have you tried BREAKLINE command in a new drawing?
What do you see in the Command window when you use BREAKLINE command?

If you make the commandline 3-5-10 lines tall while you face this challenge you might see the feedback the program is giving you to help resolve the issue you are facing
FWIW you should consider having the commandline be 3-lines tall at least, the program gives you a lot of feedback there, a 1-line-tall commandline is equivalent to "flying blind" otherwise.

yes, this looks interesting, the command says you selected nothing at all to place the breakline symbol

The problem is here:
The input for the Extension option is incorrect.
It should be E or Extension, but not "Extension of 100".
Look at my screenshot:
How do you select this option? From the context menu or from the Dynamic prompt?
Can you describe your steps in more details ?
You can try also to type E and hit Return when AutoCAD asks for the option, then type 100 and hit return again. This should set the extension to 100 units.
